UPDATE 6/10/20: All of our patios are open for responsibly distancing outdoor dining. Thank you all for your support.
UPDATE 6/3/20: All of us in the Frontera family are grappling with ways to improve our workplace, our culture, our city. Right now we’re also focused on bringing some joy back to our streets — carefully, safely and at the right time.
To that end, our patios will not reopen as planned today, but a couple of our places are moving ahead with plans.
- Xoco, 449 N. Clark St.: Patio opening 11 a.m. Thursday for limited first-come, first-served seating.
- Frontera Grill, 445 N. Clark St: Patio seating opening 11 a.m. Friday. Reservations recommended.
- Bar Sótano, 443 N. Clark St.: We are aiming for early next week for outdoor dining.
- Cruz Blanca and Leña Brava, 900 W. Randolph St.: The Cruz Blanca patio is opening 11 a.m. Thursday for first-come, first-served seating. Patio seating at next-door Leña Brava begins at 4 p.m.
The upshot — well, beyond the prospect of dining outside very soon – is that all of our carryout and delivery services are resuming today.
We’re back!
Well, kinda- sorta.
By now you’ve heard the City of Chicago has OK’d restaurants to reopen for restricted outdoor seating on June 3, so we wanted to share our plans with you. Here’s the rundown:
Frontera Grill will be open for outdoor seating at limited capacity and will continue its objectively amazing carryout and delivery services. We are taking reservations from 11:30 a.m.-9 p.m. (Yes, we’re open all afternoon!) Make your reservations here
Xoco will be OPEN for first-come, first-served patio seating and will continue its killer carryout and delivery. Still slangin’ tortas, still frying churros, still making Chicago a better place to live. Order at xocotogo.com
Bar Sótano will be open for limited outdoor seating in the completely renovated, ready-for-prime-time pedestrian alleyway next to Bar Sotano’s entrance. Al fresco mezcal cocktails and Chef Rishi’s delicious tacos, ceviches, paellas & burgers? YES, IT’S HAPPENING. Taking reservations 5-9 p.m. Make your reservations here.
Over on Randolph Street, our Leña Brava and Cruz Blanca are hatching their patio plans. They too will remain open for carryout and delivery. Meanwhile, don’t miss the new Cruz Market, an online mercado offering classic Mexican dishes and pantry staples for easy everyday meals.
Our beloved Topolobampo remains closed for now. {wipes tears}
It goes without saying, but we need to say it anyway: we are doing everything possible to keep everyone safe. That includes rigorous handwashing schedules, masked & gloved employees, contact-free payments and clever new ways to get you the dishes, cocktails and vibes you’ve come to expect from us. We can’t wait to see you again.
